Samsung has launched many smart watches in the past, but soon a new smart watch is going to be added to their collection. Samsung is soon going to launch Samsung Gear which will work on the Android Wear app available on Google Play Store. We got a chance to have a look at the watch and we are going to review the same in today’s post.
As we already told you that Samsung has launched many smart watches in the past, you won’t be seeing many changes in the design of the Samsung Gear. The dimensions of the smart watch are 37.9 X 56.4 X 8.9 mm. Samsung gear is also thinner as compared to the other smart watches launched by Samsung and it only weighs 59 grams. LG has also launched a new smart watch by the name of LG G watch and I would prefer Samsung Gear in terms of design. Samsung Gear comes with a 1.63-inch AMOLED display screen, which is a bit smaller than the one seen in LG but it comes with a higher resolution of 320 X 320 pixels. You might find it difficult to access the watch under sunlight.
Coming to the hardware of the Samsung Gear smart watch, it comes with a 1.2 Ghz Snapdragon processor and is equipped with 512 MB of RAM. It has an inbuilt storage of 4 GB. It comes with a 300 mAh battery which is smaller as compared to the one which you will find in the smart watch of LG. It comes with a heart rate sensor which will help you in finding your heart beat rate. All the results are stored into Android Fit, which is the latest platform developed by Google for fitness freaks. You can also use Samsung’s S health for exercise purpose. You can use voice commands in the Samsung Gear.
Charging is done on the Samsung Gear with the help of micro USB dongle. The port it open but as the smart watch is water resistant, you need not to worry if your watch gets wet.
The Samsung Gear live is comfortable because of the curved shape. You can use any other strap on your Samsung Gear if you are not comfortable with the stock strap. The metal studs present in the Samsung Gear Live might be frustrating at times as you have to push harder.
The Samsung Gear Live is only priced at $199 and at this price this smart watch is a steal deal. If you want a smart watch which fulfills your basic needs, Samsung Galaxy gear is the one which you should be buying whereas if you are looking for other cheaper options you can consider smart watches such as Pebble which is priced at $150, but the presence of Android wear in the Samsung Galaxy gear makes it different from the Samsung Galaxy Gear. If you are looking for more options you can wait for some time as Motorola is also going to launch a new smart watch soon.
